Task 1 What are the advantage and/or the disadvantage of attending a university in a small town or in a rural area? Explain why. Include reasons and details to support your response.

Task 1 Your professor is planning to require students to work on all projects in a group. What is an advantage and a disadvantage of working on group projects.

Task 1 Nowadays people find it hard to save money, can you talk about why it is harder for people to save money and what measures can be taken to overcome and solve it to some extent. (20180106ML)

Task1 Talk about an event happened at school that had a negative start but eventually turned positive. Please give your response with specific details.(20180128ML)

TASK1 What do you think can improve your local community and make it a better place to live?(20180127ML)(可參考 201606025ML)

  1. Talk about an object, tool, or piece of equipment that you depend on in your daily life. Explain how it makes your life easier.

I depend on my Smartphone in my daily life and it has made my life a lot easier because all the information and apps I need for work and social life are in my Smartphone. For example, I don’t use an alarm clock in the morning because there’s an app for that in my phone. Once I leave my apartment, I use the GPS in my phone to navigate the route with the least traffic to my office. If I’m stuck in the traffic,I can start checking for important emails from clients or colleagues in my car or even make some phone calls to get some problems solved before I,m actually in the office. After work, I use instant messengers on my phone to connect with friends. Without my Smartphone, everything in life would be time consuming and complicated.

  2. What is the most effective way to resolve disagreements between friends?

It is pretty common for people to have disagreements with each other. There are quite a few ways to resolve disagreements between friends, such as trust, honesty and respect. I guess the most effective way would be respect each other no matter how different your idea is from each other. For instance, every summer, I would travel with my best friend Jessie. Last time, we had a disagreement on the destination we would visit. She was looking forward to visit France because of shopping while I was eager to visit Japan due to the seafood. We didn’t try to convince each other, but respect each other’s choice. Eventually, we went to Thailand which is a great place for shopping and enjoying tasty food.

  Task 2

TASK 2 Do you think parents should protect their children from mistakes or allow them to make mistakes?

TASK 2 The government wants to build a factory in the city. It can increase the employment rate, but it will pollute the city. Do you agree or disagree?

TASK 2 Do you agree or disagree that we should let children use computers or other electronic devices as early as possible. Use specific reasons and examples in your answer?

TASK2 Do you agree or disagree with the statement that the school should teach students about moral value? Please use specific details to support your idea.

TASK2 Family members or friends often talk about some controvesial issues like politics. Some people prefer to convinve their family members or friends to agree with their opinions; other people do not prefer to do so. Which way do you prefer and why?

TASK2 Some countries have already permitted students to have the homeschooling, which means students take courses at home through Internet and don't go to school to attend classes. Do you think it is a reasonable choice? Please give your explanation.

  1. Do you agree or disagree that senior students should take a gap year before entering college?

OK, I vote for the idea that senior students should take a gap year before entering college. I have a couple of reasons for that. In the first place, students are able to slow down during the gap year pondering carefully about what they want to learn and achieve in college. In fact, students in China are stressed out when they prepare for the national college entrance exam, so one gap year will definitely help them to let off steam and adjust to the upcoming college life in a better way. Additionally, during the gap year, they can take a part-time job or travel abroad by which they are able to get beneficial experiences that help them to have a much clearer goal about their future and ensure a better performance in college.

  2. Some people prefer to write diaries or take photos to records things they’ve experienced. Others don’t. What is your opinion and why? Use specific reasons and examples to support your response.

I prefer to take photos of everything I have ever experienced. First, it’s the best way for to record beautiful moments of my life. I am a big fan of traveling. I would take a large number of photos of the places I have been, the people I meet as well as the food I enjoy. So every time I look at those photos, they would remind me of those unforgettable journeys. When I get old, I don’t remember anything. From those photos, I could know I have lived a colorful life before. Second, it gives me a sense of happiness when sharing those photos with my friends and family. I could tell them all those interesting stories happened to me. Last but not least, the photos could be passed on to the next generation like legacy.
